Master in a Manger:

Your favourite cricketing star is not someone who scores a string of zeroes but someone who is a real dasher. Your dream job would not settle for anything less than a 7 figure salary. Your dream vacation destination would be a trip to Switzerland.

If you are extremely choosy about things that do not stay long, what about your choice when it comes to religion.

You would definitely not choose a religion which banks upon a baby born in a manger and who as an adult would die a most gruesome shameful death on the cross. Friend, this Christmas season I want to introduce you to my master who was born in a manger. But aren’t masters born in palatial ambience? I will tell you why Jesus my master was born in a manger.

‘MAN’GER:

“...you are to give him the name Jesus because he will save his people from their sins” Matthew 1:21

Jesus, the only true living God who created you and me, came to this earth as a man for man. If you are someone living with a sense of guilt and shame for the things you have done in your life, then HE came for you. He can relate with all your struggles, pains, sufferings, toils and rejections. He went through every emotion and temptation that you can think of, but HE did not sin.

Search through whole of history and show me someone who told he has the power to forgive your sins and set you free. I bet you cannot find one because, Jesus is the only true living God who as a man died to defeat sin and rose again to defeat death.

If you are someone living with pride and self-righteous attitude thinking you are better than your fellow men, then HE came for you. Try to match the holy standard set by Jesus as HE walked on this earth and earn favour with God. I bet you will fail because; everyone except Jesus fell short of the standard set by God.
Jesus and only Jesus lived a life where there was NO sin.
Today you and I do not need a new religion or a new philosophy or a new guru to seek God. We need a relationship with Jesus who is the only bridge of hope between you and God.

M’ANGER’:

“It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31

Are you angry about things like child abuse, corruption, genocide and all other vices in this man-eat-man world? Sometimes you even desire a fitting punishment for people involved in such crimes.

But, have you ever stopped for a second and thought about God’s anger on you and me. Though we do not commit murder (or) adultery in flesh, what about the same in our minds. How deceitful, wicked and selfish our hearts and minds are.
Do you think you can have a relationship with God with all your criminal records with you? Don’t we deserve nothing but death for the things that we do all through our life?
Jesus came to take up God’s anger on himself on our behalf. He took the pain and the sufferings on Him on the cross where you and I should have been put to death. Unless you recognize your sinful state, the need of a saviour would never arise in your life.

Jesus and only Jesus can save you from God’s wrath and anger. Surrender your life to Jesus because He loves you and gave Him for you.
Do you now understand why Jesus was born in a manger? He came for man and to save man from God’s righteous and just anger.

Prayer:
Dear God,
I acknowledge that there is nothing good in me and I am a sinner. I believe that only the blood of Jesus shed on the cross can forgive all my sins and give me a new life. Today, I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and friend in my Life. Come Lord Jesus into my life. Amen.
Friend, if you have prayed this prayer with a genuine heart I want you to pick up a New Testament Bible and read through the Book named “The Gospel Of John” to understand more about the work that Christ did for you and the works you will be enabled do to for Christ.
