An elementary school teacher penned these simple little words and on reading this, it touched my heart. She wrote in her simple words about her student who was blown out in a written test and came back begging for an other chance. Here it goes…

“He came to my desk with quivering lip;

the lesson was done.

“Have you a new leaf for me, dear teacher?

I have spoiled this one!”

I took his leaf, all soiled and blotted

And gave him a new one, all unspotted.

Then into his tired heart I smiled:

”Do better now, my child.”

I went to the throne with trembling heart;

The year was done.

“Have you a new year for me, dear Master?

I have spoiled this one!”’

He took my year, all soiled and blotted

And gave me a new one, all unspotted,

Then into my tired heart, He smiled:

‘”Do better now, my child!”

My dear friend, as you read the above lines, just ponder over in your heart as to how many times you and I asked God, “Lord I’ve spoiled this life; give me an other chance”. My dear friend, if you are reading this with a quest for the same, let me tell you that I have good news for you! My God is so loving that He is ever ready to give you a new life right here; for He didn’t spare His only begotten Son for us so that we can have that new life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). This is the highest expression of love which we can perceive. Nothing of that we have done has made His love less; nothing that we can do makes His love more. He is an unconditional loving God; a Father who gave up His only son to give us a brand new life. And through His son, Jesus we become new creation! Yes, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Cor 5:17).

So cheer up my dear bother and sister, we have a new life now through Christ, the Redeemer of our rugged, filthy lives! For He says, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10) As we celebrate these moments of the joy of Christ’s birth together, I pray this Christmas to be so real in your life filled with joy, peace and all good tidings; for Jesus Loves You.

Wish you a Merry Christmas! ~Sonia Kokkiriipati
